We’re not sure this would get the referee on an aeroplane either.

AFTER NIGEL OWENS’ very public travel problems yesterday, the Welsh referee was able to see the funny side of it when Leinster fans presented him with a new passport after last night’s Guinness Pro-12 game with Zebre.

Owens, of course, was nearly delayed getting into Dublin following Ryanair’s refusal to let him travel with just a driving licence. However, Aer Lingus came to the rescue and Owens made it to the RDS in plenty of time.

He had no such trouble on the flight home this morning:
