O'Loughlin bows out as Clare manager

Sparrow calls it a day after disappointing season ends in heavy defeat to Galway last weekend.

GER ‘SPARROW’ O’LOUGHLIN has quit as Clare senior hurling manager.

Clare FM reported the news this morning and the Banner County Board have since confirmed it.

O’Loughlin admitted this week that he was considering his future in the wake of the heavy defeat to Galway in the qualifiers.

The two-time All-Ireland winner had been at the helm since 2009. The Clarecastle man is said to have told Clare chiefs at a meeting last night.
