DETECTIVES IN TYRONE are appealing for information following an incident in the Main Street area of Carrickmore, Omagh, overnight last night.
Shortly before 12.20am it was reported to police that a 24-year-old man had been assaulted in the area of Main Street.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries that are described as serious.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who was in the Main Street area late last night or early this morning to contact them at Omagh Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
