Memories

Open thread: how was 2012 for you, sports fans?

A sing-song in Gdansk? A goal in five-a-side? Or a winning Ryder Cup bet? What was your stand-out sporting memory then?

AND… BREATHE! THAT was quite the 12 months of sport.

We had the exciting, hope-filled run-in to the Euros. Then the, eh, Euros. The London Olympic and Paralympic Games with Katie, the rest of the boxers and even Cian O’Connor making a memorable comeback.

Lance Armstrong’s house of cards finally tumbled down around him, Jim McGuinness led Donegal to an historic All-Ireland football while Kilkenny again took the honours in hurling.

So let us know; what was your sporting highlight, lowlights, stand-out memory, be it an international rugby game, a goal in five-a-side or watching a loved one smash another pre-teen in an underage game.
