Patriots cheerleaders required to pass football IQ test

Alexia Flutie was obliged to answer questions on overtime and safeties in order to secure the much-coveted position.

A NEW ENGLAND Patriots cheerleader has spoken of the challenges that rising to such a position entails.

No, seriously.

Alexia Flutie – daughter of ex-Patriots quarterback Doug Flutie – described how she had to pass a football IQ test in order to make the grade.

Speaking in an interview with The Fan 590, she revealed that all aspiring Patriots cheerleaders must take the test, and added:

“Growing up with football around definitely helps but some of the questions get very intense and you have to know very specific details. I know some of the things I had issues with were the postseason rules for overtime and safeties. It was a little more intense. Not playing sports I definitely had to study those a little bit harder.”

The NFL season begins on Thursday, despite a lockout previously threatening to disrupt proceedings.

The Patriots will play The Miami Dolphins in their first game on 12 September.
