Big blow for London as they begin search for new manager

Paul Coggins’ five-year tenure is over.

PAUL COGGINS HAS stepped down from his position as London football manager, it was announced this evening.

The Roscommon native was in charge for five seasons after taking over from Noel Dunning in 2011.

Coggins signed on for another year last summer but has decided against extending his stay again.

London made history under his tutelage in 2013 when they reached the Connacht final for the first time after famously defeating Sligo in the opening round.

The Exiles ultimately lost the final to Mayo in Castelbar but the feat earned them a place at Croke Park for an All-Ireland qualifier against Cavan.

However, London haven’t been able to reach those heights since and suffered defeat to Roscommon in Ruislip in June.

A statement from London GAA is expected to be released shortly.
