Dublin's Paul Flynn free to line out for Ireland in International Rules

Club fixtures have been changed which will now facilitate the Dublin attacker.

DUBLIN’S PAUL FLYNN will be available to line out for Ireland in tomorrow night’s International Rules first test after a club league game that was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon has been deferred.

Flynn’s club Fingallians were scheduled to face St Peregrine’s in Dublin Division 2 football league game tomorrow afternoon at 4.30pm.

Fingallians efforts to get the game switched were initially unsuccessful and Flynn was faced with the prospect of missing out on the clash in Kingspan Breffni Park.

But the game has now been put back to Sunday October 27th at 11am, enabling Flynn to be available for selection by Irish manager Paul Earley tomorrow.

Fingallians have had to give up home advantage though because of the change in date.

The situation is still a difficult one for Flynn as he will have to play a club game the morning after Ireland play Australia in the second International Rules test in Croke Park.

A club spokesperson explained to TheScore.ie that the league game has been delayed due to Dublin’s extended run in this year’s All-Ireland senior football championship.

Flynn was in action for Fingallians on Wednesday night in the Dublin intermediate football championship final when they lost out to Naomh Olaf by 1-13 to 0-12 at Parnell Park.

Had they won that game, Fingallians would have been in Leinster club action this Sunday against Kildare’s Johnstownbridge.
