REMEMBER PAUL MANNION?

Part of Dublin’s All-Ireland winning team in 2013, Mannion was on the pitch when Dublin’s Sam Maguire dream ended at the hands of Donegal last August.

Then shortly after that game, Mannion headed to Beijing for a year as part of his International Commerce studies in UCD.

But the door hasn’t been closed on Mannion potentially returning to the Dublin ranks this summer. He’s currently in the USA and manager Jim Gavin will be monitoring his form when he returns to club football.

“He’s in North America now so he’s on his way back,” revealed Gavin.

“I’ve spoken to Paul and if he’s back and plays, we don’t have a closed championship squad (and) it’s always open.

“There is club games on Wednesday night that we will be scouting for some players we have our eye on. (The) same rule applies for any player who is away that comes back into the country.”
