Mayo's Pearce Hanley won another AFL Player of the Round award after the weekend's action

The Brisbane Lions player was in brilliant form on Saturday at the Gabba.

IT’S A BIG week for Mayo football with both their senior and minor teams in action in All-Ireland quarter-final ties next weekend.

Cian Hanley is a key player in the Mayo minor ranks and while older brother Pearce won’t be involved in the senior setup, he’s doing okay for himself on the sporting front.

Pearce was the star of the show in the AFL last Saturday night as the Brisbane Lions ran out 110-56 winners over Gold Coast. His superb showing saw him voted ‘Player Of The Round’ for Round 18 – an accolade he previously earned for his performances in Round 15 in late June.

In Saturday night’s game, Hanley finished with 45 disposals, nine clearances, 11 inside 50 entries, two goals and three goals assists at the Gabba.

Here’s the highlights from his brilliant Aussie Rules performance.
