Petrol bombs thrown at bungalow while 70-year-old woman was inside

The woman was left shaken by the ordeal say police.

TWO PETROL BOMBS were thrown at a bungalow where a 70-year-old woman was inside last night.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the attack in the Leckagh Walk area of Magherafelt.

At approximately 10.10pm, police received a report that two petrol bombs had been thrown at a bungalow.

Damage

One of the petrol bombs ignited causing scorch damage to a window and door of the property. The elderly woman, who was in the property at the time, was not injured but was left shaken by her ordeal.

Sergeant Bruce Rhymer appealed to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact Police at Magherafelt on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
