16-TIME WORLD DARTS champion Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor was at The Crucible on Sunday evening to cheer on Ronnie O’Sullivan as he captured the Betfair World Championship for the fifth time.

Speaking to the BBC’s Hazel Irvine after his 18-12 win, O’Sullivan commented, “My main motive wasn’t to come here and win it. I was kind of bored, sitting on the sidelines with nothing going on and I thought, ‘I can do it’. And then coming here, I like Sheffield, I love the tournament and being at the Crucible, so it filled a nice gap of eight weeks and I’ve got to keep busy now.”
“It’s been great just to get something back in my life.”
Asked whether he would return to the Crucible to defend his crown in 2014, O’Sullivan replied: “I’ve had a great time and I enjoyed every moment. I love playing and I’m definitely going to be playing in some smaller events, as to me that’s just pure snooker.”
O’Sullivan had the BBC presenter scrambling for words as he joked about his no-holds barred honesty and struggles to maintain a love for the game. “Everyone knows me,” he remarked, “I’m more up and down than a whore’s drawers.”
