Orlando-bound flight diverted back to Dublin due to "technical fault"

The plane was just south of Iceland when a decision was made to turn back to Dublin.

AN AER LINGUS plane bound for Orlando was diverted back to Dublin two hours into its journey this afternoon, due to technical issues.

A spokesman for the company confirmed the decision was made due to a “technical fault” — and said the plane landed safely at Dublin Airport around an hour ago.

Alternative arrangements are being made to transport the passengers on to Florida tomorrow.
