Podge Collins might have already scored the Goal of the Season

This will be hard to beat.

EVEN ON A disappointing day for the Clare hurlers, you can rely on Podge Collins to produce a moment of genius.

The Banner are facing a relegation play-off against Dublin after they squandered a late lead and lost against Waterford on Sunday.

But at least there was one silver lining on the day as Collins scored with this sensational solo effort that will surely feature on many “best of” lists come the end of the season.

Steaming into the attack 45 metres out, Collins took the ball in his stride and made a beeline for the Waterford goal, weaving away from the three Déise defenders at the last before rifling a shot across Stephen O’Keeffe and into the top right-hand corner.

Magnificent.
