SAM LAKE IS a 23-year-old man who had a warrant issued for his arrest by police in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The police service posted an appeal for his whereabouts on their Facebook, complete with a mugshot.
Lake, however, wasn’t happy with his look. And he left a comment to that effect.
This sparked a bit of a war of words with the Christchurch Police.
And then, he started to get smart.
After the Facebook conversation was posted on on the r/NewZealand subreddit, it began to spread internationally.
One Redditor Photoshopped some Blue Steel onto Lake’s mugshot.
At which point, wanted man Lake – apparently delighted with his viral success – used the image as his new Facebook profile photo.
However, his time in the spotlight was short-lived.
