Poll: Does social media abuse of politicians go too far?

Is all fair in politics?

LABOUR TD PAT Rabbitte thinks it’s time for the “selective targeting of public figures” to stop.

Speaking on Prime Time last night, Rabbitte said politicians have always felt the anger of people, but that it is “entirely different” now.

He said the “scurrilous stream of abuse on social media” has gone too far.

But, is it part of the game? Should politicians expect, and take, a certain level of abuse for the decisions they make?

We’re asking: Does social media abuse of politicians go too far?

Poll Results:

No (4729)
Yes (3703)
I don't know (392)
