Is Leicester's Premier League success the greatest sporting upset ever?

The Foxes had been continually written off as title contenders this season.

UNLESS YOU’VE BEEN living under a rock with no wi-fi for the past day, you’ll know that Leicester City were confirmed as Premier League champions last night.

It is an outcome that few people, save a couple of optimistic Foxes fans, would have predicted at the start of the campaign.

At odds of 5000/1, Piers Morgan managing Arsenal, Alex Ferguson winning Strictly Come Dancing and Andy Murray naming his first born Novak were among the scenarios deemed more likely to happen.

Sport has, of course, produced plenty of shocks over the years, including Greece winning the 2004 Euros, Japan beating South Africa in the Rugby World Cup and Buster Douglas defeating Mike Tyson.

However, what’s particularly special about Leicester’s triumph is that it wasn’t down to a one-off game or even a couple of games — instead, they managed to maintain their improbable run over the course of a season, going from a team that looked to be on the verge of relegation to Premier League champions in the space of 12 months.

With that in mind, do you think Leicester’s Premier League success is the greatest sporting upset ever?
