BRITISH PRIME MINISTER David Cameron has proposed making weight-loss programmes a condition for receipt of sickness benefits for obese people.

If the proposal got the go-ahead, it would mean weekly payments would be reduced for people who are not thought to be doing enough to help themselves lose weight. Health experts have hit out at the proposal, describing it as “ethically and financially questionable”.
