Poll: were Wolves right to sack Mick McCarthy?

Yesterday’s 5-1 home defeat to West Brom in the Black Country derby was, it seems, the last straw for owner Steve Morgan.

WOLVES HAVE CONFIRMED that Mick McCarthy’s contract has been terminated.

Yesterday’s 5-1 home defeat to West Brom in the Black Country derby was, it seems, the last straw for owner Steve Morgan.

The defeat – for which McCarthy subsequently apologised – saw the Molineux club slip back into the bottom three.

McCarthy led the club to promotion in 2009 and his kept them there since, but they have struggled this campaign. The former Ireland skipper and manager led Wolves to safety from a worse position last year, however.

Steve Bruce and Neil Warnock are the early frontrunners in the race to succeed McCarthy.

So, were the club right to sack the manager today?
