POLL: Will today be the quietest Deadline Day in recent memory?

The January transfer window shuts at 11pm tonight, but will we see any major deals go through between now and then?

THE FINAL HOURS of this month’s transfer window are upon us – meaning many a fan will be glued to the telly/computer screen/phone in the hope that their club pulls off an audacious move for that missing piece of the jigsaw.

Sightings of helicopter landings, cars with blackened out windows speeding past Sky Sports News reporters, crowds of annoying bystanders and Jim White answering his phone on-air all adds to the tension and excitement that is Deadline Day.

Last year gave us Torres and Luiz to Chelsea as well as Carroll to Liverpool, which might go some way to explaining why managers of the Premier League’s biggest sides have been distancing themselves from getting involved in the action today.

Alex Ferguson, Roberto Mancini, Arsene Wenger and Kenny Dalglish have all said there will be little or no activity at their respective clubs while the man we can generally rely on, Harry Redknapp, is preoccupied with his tax evasion trial right now.

Plus, the top four are also involved in league action this evening. So with the window due to shut at 11pm tonight, it begs the question…

Will today be the quietest Deadline Day in recent memory?
