FOR SOMETHING THAT is actually quite secondary to performance in reality, fans and players alike love to talk about boots.
Every new design is studied and oogled like a glamour model. So it is interesting that as boots have been getting flashier, Adidas have gone for a more basic design for these Predators and Copa Mondials.
With the black model, there is finally a Predator that Peter Clohessy or Moss Keane could have worn — a boot that could dish out a good shooing but could also be trusted to carry you on the odd break. And with the white, there is finally a bridge between an old school boot and something that Conor Mortimer would have been proud to call his own.
What do you all think? Will those of you who own a pair of Puma Kings finally jump ship to this understated black Predator? Do people prefer the old school look or the more modern style like Ronaldo or Neymar’s?
