Sexton and Welsh trio to start when Toulouse visit Racing Metro tomorrow

You stay safe out there, Jonny.

WHILE THE REST of Joe Schmidt’s front-line internationals are resting up in preparation for the big Six Nations kick-off next weekend, Jonathan Sexton will play one of the biggest games of his club season.

Sexton starts at number 10 for Racing Metro in tomorrow’s Top 14 clash with Toulouse at Stade de France (KO 15:55).

Guy Noves’ side begin the day in fourth, six points ahead of the Parisian club in eighth and the side run by Laurent Labit and Laurent Travers have not held back their resources as they look to kick-start an unlikely Bouclier de Brennus bid.

While Joe Schmidt anxiously follows Jonathan Sexton’s progress, Wales coach Warren Gatland may well be doing the same for three players who could feature in the opening game of Wales’ defence of the Six Nations.

Mike Phillips partners Sexton at halfback with Jamie Roberts in the centre and Dan Lydiate deployed in an unfamiliar role at openside flanker.
