Just three board-members kept on, as Rehab continues "transformation process"

The 13 new appointees to the board will all serve in a voluntary, unpaid capacity.

JUST THREE MEMBERS of its outgoing board have been retained by Rehab, after it confirmed a new 16-person leadership panel yesterday.

The group says the announcement marks a milestone in its “transformation process” after a year marked by controversy.

The new appointees have experience in the charity, public and private sectors. All will serve in an unpaid capacity.

A comprehensive review was initiated by Rehab last May to address “failings in governance” that came to light this year, the group says.

“The process to appoint a new CEO is well advanced with strong candidates emerging and we hope to be in a position to make an announcement in this regard early in October,” Acting Chief Executive Seán Egan added.

Former CEO Angela Kerins stepped down in April citing the toll the recent controversy has taken on her family.

She had been under increasing pressure since the disclosure that she earned €240,000 annually, as well as revelation that Rehab made a €9,000 profit from €4 million worth of scratch card sales in 2010.
