Robbie Keane on the mend after Achilles injury surgery

The Ireland striker had the operation in London today.

IRELAND SKIPPER Robbie Keane underwent surgery today on his troublesome Achilles injury.

The LA Galaxy forward sat out the scoreless draw with Poland in Poznan recently with new manager Martin O’Neill describing the problem as ‘chronic’.

Keane however went under the knife at a London hospital earlier and aims to be bacl ‘stronger than ever’.
