MUNSTER HAVE CONFIRMED the signing of Robin Copeland on a two year deal from July 2014.

The Cardiff Blues blindside flanker joined for the Welsh club from Rotherham Titans last year and has since featured prominently – playing eight times in the Heineken Cup including a man-of-the-match display in the win over current champions Toulon in October.

Munster head coach Rob Penney said: “We’ve seen Robin in action first hand and we’ve always been hugely impressed by his potential.

“From his experience in playing a number of positions he brings a great deal of versatility and we believe he will be a great addition to the squad. He will add value to a highly competitive area of our game.”

A former Leinster academy player, 26-year-old Wexford native Copeland recently told TheScore.ie that he intended to one day return to play in Ireland.

He also revealed that it is his “dream” to line for the international team, which is believed to have played a part in his decision.
