RAJON RONDO WILL miss at least three NBA games as he recovers from his facial injuries, the Dallas Mavericks said on Monday.

Rondo has an orbital fracture to his left eye and a nasal fracture after team-mate Richard Jefferson accidentally kneed him in the face during Saturday’s 108-93 win over the Orlando Magic.

Rondo’s status will be officially updated later this week, with the requirement of surgery still unknown.

The point guard lasted just 98 seconds against the Magic at Amway Center in Orlando. After poking the ball away from Magic guard Elfrid Payton, Rondo fell to the floor but as he found his feet, the former Boston Celtics man collided with the knee of team-mate Jefferson.

Rondo, who left the court with blood pouring from his nose and never returned, has been averaging 9.2 points, 6.5 assists and five rebounds since joining the Mavericks (32-17) in December.
