This was the biggest rugby fight we saw over the course of last weekend’s rugby action.

GEORGIA RECORDED A 19-15 win over Canada on Saturday in Tbilisi, but the game was more notable for the ugly brawl that erupted in the first half than the result itself. The incident was sparked when the home side’s flanker Viktor Kolelishvili, who is contracted to Clermont but currently on loan at Lyon in the Pro D2, made a dangerous high tackle on Canadian out-half Liam Underwood.

The North Americans’ No. 8 and captain, Tyler Ardron, clearly took exception and went in swinging on Kolelishvili, who was more than happy to respond in kind. From there, both sets of teammates piled in and the brawl ended up with Ardron and Kolelishvili being red-carded.

This Georgian side have fairly recent history of similar antics.
