Ryder Cup underway despite bad weather

Rain jackets and brollies are aplenty but the appalling weather at Celtic Manor has failed to prevent the 2010 Ryder Cup from getting underway.

RAIN JACKETS AND brollies are aplenty but the appalling weather at Celtic Manor has failed to prevent the 2010 Ryder Cup from getting underway.

The pre match rhetoric has been as feisty as ever but all that’s irrelevant now with the morning four balls underway. Europe took an early advantage on the sodden Welsh course but it’s all square now.

Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer were first to tee off against against Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson and are currently two up after four rounds.

Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell took an early lead but are now all square against Stewart Cink and Matt Kuchar. Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher are also all square against Steve Stricker and Tiger Woods and Luke Donald

In the final morning fourball the US have hit back with Bubba Watson and Jeff Overton currently one up against Padraig Harrington and Luke Donald in the last of this morning’s pairings.
