Here's the 32 All-Ireland winners that are climbing Carrauntoohil in aid of the Alan Kerins Projects

The unique charity event ‘Sam To The Summit’ takes place this Friday.

SAM MAGUIRE WILL be accompanied by 32 All-Ireland medal winners in a climb to the summit of Carrauntoohil this Friday in a unique charity event in aid of the ‘Alan Kerins Projects’.

Steven McDonnell, Graham Canty, Martin McHugh, Mickey Linden, Barry Cahill, Seamus Moynihan, Ja Fallon, Gerry McEntee, Declan Browne and Peter Canavan are some of the famous faces that are participating in the ‘Sam To The Summit’ event.

Antrim – Sean Kelly
2010 All Ireland senior football club winner with St Galls.

Armagh – Steven McDonnell
2002 All-Ireland senior football winner. Also won 3 Allstar awards and was 2003 GPA Footballer of the Year.

Carlow – Johnny Nevin
Winner of All-Ireland B Hurling and football medals with his county.

Cavan – Ronan Carolan
Ulster U21 winner in 1989 and Ulster senior winner in 1997. His late father won an All-Ireland senior medal with Cavan in 1952.

Clare – Martin Flynn
Corner-forward on the Clare team that won the Munster final against Kerry in 1992.

Cork – Graham Canty
Cork’s 2010 All-Ireland senior winning captain won three Allstar awards during his career.

Derry – Tony Scullion
A winner of Sam Maguire with Derry in 1993, Scullion also claimed four Allstar awards.

Donegal – Martin McHugh
The 1992 Footballer of the Year won an All-Ireland medal that season with Donegal. His son Mark won an All-Ireland medal in 2012.

Down – Mickey Linden
A winner of All-Ireland football medals in 1991 and 1994, Linden was the Footballer of the Year in 1994. Represented Down at senior level in three different decades.

Dublin – Barry Cahill
An All-Ireland winner with Dublin in 2011 and also a former Allstar as well as a winner of eight Leinster titles. Barry is also one of the main organisers of this event.

Fermanagh – Cormac McAdam
The Lisnasken Emmets chairman captained Fermanagh to win the All-Ireland B title in 1997. As a result of a work accident Cormac is confined to a wheelchair. A member of his family will climb to the Summit.

Galway – Ja Fallon
The All-Ireland winner in 1998 and 2001, Tuam Stars club man Fallon has 5 Connacht medals with the Tribesmen and also has a Footballer of the year award on his impressive CV.

Kerry – Seamus Moynihan
The Glenflesk man won four All-Ireland medals with Kerry as well as a stunning nine Munster titles during his playing career. He also captained his country in the International Rules series.

Kildare – Bill Gannon
The original Sam Maguire trophy was won in 1928 by Kildare, captained by Bill ‘Squires’ Gannon. Bill Gannon’s daughter will bring the medal to the summit.

Kilkenny – John Costello
Played in two All-Ireland colleges finals in 1973 and 1974. He also played in six Sigerson Cup competitions and two Fitzgibbon Cup competitions, winning both a Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cup in the same year in 1980 and a further Sigerson win in 1981.

Laois – Brian ‘Beano’ McDonald
A winner of All-Ireland Minor titles in 1996 and 1997 and a Leinster senior medal in 2003. He has also won 3 County Intermediate Championships with his club Arles-Kileen.

Leitrim – Declan Darcy
A native of Aughawillian he claimed All Ireland senior B honours with Leitrim in 1990,1991 and 1992. He also claimed provincial honours with the county in 1994 and more recently helped Jim Gavin and Dublin to last year’s All Ireland title.

Limerick – John McStay
Malachi O’Brien won this All Ireland Medal in 1887. It is the oldest All Ireland medal surviving. It was purchased in 2005 by John McStay, who wanted to ensure the medal stayed in Limerick and Ireland. A member of the McStay family will bring the medal to Ireland’s highest point.

Longford – Paddy Dowd
The Clonguish native won an All-Ireland Vocational Schools medal in 2003. He was forced to retire from inter-county football at the age of 24 due to persistent back problems.

Louth – Frank Lynch
Frank was left half forward on the Louth team that won the 1957 All-Ireland final. At just 19 years of age, he was the youngest member of the team. A member of the Geraldine’s club.

Mayo – Mick Loftus
The Crossmolina Deel Rovers man claimed his All-Ireland medal with Mayo in 1951. A doctor by profession, he has also served as president of the GAA.

Meath – Gerry McEntee
The Nobber native won two All-Ireland medals with Meath in 1987 and 1988 as well as five Leinster titles. A surgeon by trade, he also managed Dublin side St.Brigid’s to their first county championship win in 2003.

Monaghan – Padraig McKenna
Padraig McKenna from the Eire Óg club was corner back on the Monaghan team that won the All Ireland B title against Fermanagh in 1999.

Offaly – Richie Connor
Captain of the Offaly team that stopped Kerry’s drive-for-five in 1982, Connor operated at center forward that day. An Allstar winner in 1981 he was part of the Walsh Island team that won six Offaly championships in a row between 1978 and 1983.

Roscommon – Donal Keenan

A native of Elphin, Co. Roscommon, with whom he won two county senior football medals. Dr. Keenan won a Dublin SFC medal with UCD. He also won an All-Ireland JFC medal in 1940 and two All-Ireland SFC medals in 1943 and 1944. Was coach and selector for the Roscommon county senior teams from the late 1950′s to 1973.

Sligo – Brendan Egan
The Tourlestrane native won an All-Ireland junior medal in 2010 with Sligo. He more recently won Dublin, Leinster and All-Ireland club honours with St Vincent’s.

Tipperary – Declan Browne
The Moyle Rovers man won an All-Ireland junior championship in 2001. A two time football Allstar, he also won two Fitzgibbon Cup medals.

Tyrone – Peter Canavan
A winner of two All-Ireland medals with Tyrone in 2003 and 2005. The Errigal Ciaran club man has also won six Allstar awards as well as four Ulster senior medals.

Waterford – Paul Foley
A full-forward on the All-Ireland junior winning team in 2004, Foley also won six county and one Munster hurling medals with his club Ballygunner.

Westmeath – David O’Shaughnessy
The towering Garrycastle man won an an All-Ireland medal with Westmeath in 1999. He also won a Leinster senior under the guidance of the late Páidí Ó Sé.

Wexford – Diarmuid Lyng
Gizzy will be accompanying a relative of the All-Ireland football title won by Wexford in 1914. He himself won a Leinster senior hurling medal in 2004.

Wicklow – Kevin O’Brien
The Baltinglass native won an All-Ireland senior B title in 1992 with Wicklow as well as an All-Ireland senior medal with his club in 1990.
