LONG-SERVING MEATH footballer Seamus Kenny has retired from the inter-county game.
The 34 year-old, who was the captain of the Royals in 2011 and 2012, represented the Meath senior football team for 15 years.
He made his debut against Westmeath back in 2001 and won two Leinster titles in 2001 and 2010 along with a Division 2 football league crown.
Kenny suffered huge injury problems during his career and twice sustained torn cruciate knee ligament injuries.
He did not feature last Saturday when Meath bowed out of the 2014 championship with a defeat to Armagh in Croke Park, as he was suffering from a hip injury.
