THE TRIAL OF former Anglo Irish Bank chief executive Sean Fitzpatrick will begin next Monday.

He is charged with failing to disclose to auditors Ernst & Young the true value of loans to him or people connected with him of at least €139.8 million from Irish Nationwide.

In total, Fitzpatrick is facing charges on 12 different counts.

The trial had been due to begin today but a jury will now be selected tomorrow before proceeding next week.

The offences are alleged to have occurred at various dates, each at the end of November or beginning of December, in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
