St Ledger withdraws from Ireland squad, Madden and Keogh called up

The FAI confirmed that the Leicester defender would miss the game due to a knee injury.

SEAN ST LEDGER has become Ireland’s latest injury victim ahead of their upcoming international friendly with Wales.

The FAI confirmed this evening that the Leicester defender would be unable to travel to Cardiff.

In addition, it’s been confirmed that Yeovil’s Paddy Madden and Andy Keogh of Millwall have received late call-ups to the squad.

Aiden McGeady, Anthony Pilkington, Simon Cox and David Forde have already been ruled out of the game, while Richard Dunne and Robbie Keane were left out of the original squad.

However, one star name likely to feature is Tottenham’s Gareth Bale, who was named in Wales’ squad earlier in the week.

The game takes place at the Cardiff City Stadium this Wednesday at 7.45pm.
