AFTER MISSING A short birdie putt just minutes earlier – a slip that ensured a playoff with Justin Rose – Sergio Garcia was calm and composed as he stepped up to the same green and the same pin to try, again, and win his first ever major.
After his tee-shot put him in immediate trouble, Rose struggled to make up the lost ground, subsequently missed his putt for par and had to make do with a bogey.
Garcia had two shots to win.
But all he needed was one.
