CL

Spartak Moscow’s 1-1 draw against Maribor is very good news for Liverpool.

It means one point from their final two group dreams will effectively secure qualification.

We’re under way…

SEVILLA 0-1 LIVERPOOL (FIRMINO 2)

Wijnaldum flicks on a corner and an unmarked Firmino slots the ball home at the far post.

It took just 95 seconds for Liverpool to score and they already seem to have one foot in the knockout stages (remember, a draw will be good enough).

Coutinho’s header is punched away.

Liverpool are looking sharp tonight and have started this game with real purpose.

Sarabia passes the ball straight out of play.

Sevilla look out of sorts right now.

Half chance for Sevilla.

Nolito and Escudero link up well to create space down the left, before the latter fires the ball into the side netting.

He probably would have been better off crossing there.

Liverpool are under a bit of pressure now.

They look quite well organised though, and are set up in what is effectively a 4-5-1 formation when they don’t have the ball.

Big let offs for Liverpool.

Nolito takes the ball past Joe Gomez, before his shot is tipped onto the post by Karius.

Moments latter, Ben Yedder is through on goal, but fires his finish just wide.

SEVILLA 0-2 LIVERPOOL (MANE 22)

It’s a goal from a corner again.

The set piece is flicked on by Firmino, before Mane gets on the end of it with a header.

It’s been a highly entertaining opening.

There’s been some fine attacking play, mixed with woeful defending.

There have been three attempts each on target so far.

The big difference is that Liverpool have been far more clinical in front of goal.

SEVILLA 0-3 LIVERPOOL (FIRMINO 30)

Liverpool are ripping the hosts apart.

Mane escapes from Geis down the left. His finish is saved, but Firmino is on hand to slot the rebound into an empty net.

Sevilla have just collapsed mentally.

They half clear a corner, before Salah fires the ball well over.

It could get embarrassing for the Spaniards.

Liverpool go close again.

Countinho plays through Salah, whose finish is saved by the foot of Sergio Rico.

Banega gets booked for cynically dragging back Coutinho.

You get the feeling there could be a few more goals in this, with neither side looking especially secure at the back.

HALF-TIME: SEVILLA 0-3 LIVERPOOL

Half-time and Liverpool have ruthlessly exploited some disastrous Sevilla defending.

It would take an almighty mess-up for Liverpool not to be in the Champions League knockout stages now.

Sevilla are making a half-time change.

Vázquez is replacing N’Zonzi.

The second half has begun…

Just over a minute of normal time remains.

Looks like Liverpool are going to see this game out.

SEVILLA 1-3 LIVERPOOL (BEN YEDDER 51)

Is the comeback on? Surely not.

Ben Yedder has just scored his fifth goal in five matches, heading home from Banega’s free-kick delivery.

The Sevilla players are not happy with Coutinho’s high challenge.

The replays suggest there wasn’t much in it.

Still though, the hosts’ players passion suggests they still think they can win this game.

Elsewhere tonight, Real Madrid are hammering APOEL 6-0.

PENALTY TO SEVILLA!

SEVILLA 2-3 LIVERPOOL (BEN YEDDER 60)

Ben Yedder sends Karius the wrong way to really put the pressure on Liverpool.

The penalty came after Moreno miscontrolled the ball and then tripped up Ben Yedder.

So close! Escudero’s volley is deflected onto the bar via the hands of Karius.

Liverpool respond by making a double change — Milner is on for Moreno and Can replaces Coutinho.

Sevilla have all the momentum in this second half.

Liverpool look rattled.

Henderson gets booked for a late challenge.

The stadium has really come alive now, with the home side sensing vulnerability in their opponents.

Nervy Sevilla defending now.

Sergio Rico fails to properly deal with a cross, before Salah’s shot is deflected wide.

Sevilla make another change.

Nolito, who has missed a few chances, is replaced by Muriel.

The changes have made a bit of a difference for Liverpool.

They look slightly more solid now with Can in midfield.

Big chance! Liverpool break and Salah plays through Can.

However, Mercado gets back well to make a brilliant last-ditch challenge.

Sevilla make another change, as Correa replaces Ben Yedder.

As I type, Firmino plays through Mane, who blasts the ball just wide.

Can has just been booked for shoving Mercado, as the latter attempted a quick throw-in.

The Sevilla player made the most of that to ensure the German international was booked.

Liverpool make a final change.

Mo Salah is replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Four minutes of time added on…

SEVILLA 3-3 LIVERPOOL (PIZARRO 90)

Incredible scenes!

A corner falls to Pizarro and he fires the ball home to send the home crowd into ecstasy.

Liverpool will be kicking themselves.
