Ex-Munster coach Mannix reportedly makes a move to tempt Zebo to Pau

The Southern French side already have three ex-Munster men in their ranks.

AS LONG AS the weeks and months keep ticking down on Simon Zebo’s Munster contract the speculation linking him with a move to France will persist.

Early this month, The42 brought news that Zebo’s name had been circulated to many Top14 clubs with an eye for a talented winger. And today, Midi Olympique report that the winger has met with his former backs coach Simon Mannix to discuss a possible move to Pau.

Mannix has been head coach of Section Paloise since Anthony Foley took over from Rob Penney as Munster head coach last year. The Pyrenees club currently sit third from bottom in the Top14, but already have a trio of Zebo’s ex-team-mates with Paddy Butler, Sean Dougall and James Coughlan vying for back row positions.

Mannix would also surely have attempted to sell the Corkman on the prospect of playing with All Blacks Colin Slade and Conrad Smith who joins after a second World Cup win.

Midi Olympique, add that Stade Francais were among the clubs who were slipped Zebo’s CV, but they have not yet met with the 25-year-old Ireland international or his agent.
