We'll miss you, Georgie: Presenter bids farewell to Sky Sports News

It’s a sad day for male sports fans everywhere. To help you cope with the loss, we’ve compiled six of the pint-sized blonde’s best clips.

TO MANY VIEWERS of Sky Sports News, Georgie Thompson is a goddess.

She first appeared on our screens back in 2001 and has turned repeating a handful of the day’s stories over and over into a real treat ever since. In fact, she is the main reason we tune in.

Not only do her smoking-hot looks make watching the likes of Jim White and Julian Warren bearable, she also knows her Phil Jones from her Kenwyne Jones.

29 December 2011 will be remembered as a dark day in the channel’s history as the 34-year-old presents her last broadcast ahead of a move to front Sky’s F1 coverage in the coming season.

We’ll certainly be tuning in as it could prove to be one of the TV moments of the year.

Ladbrokes are offering 1/4 on Georgie to shed a couple of tears on-air while you’ll get 3/1 for her to be trending worldwide on Twitter.

Her final shift begins at 3pm and will run to 7pm but here are some of her best bits on SSN:

6) Georgie is in a fit of giggles back in October 2010 as her and co-presenter Simon Thomas discuss pie-eating and facial hair with Ian Dowie.

5) She puts on a brave face and still looks stunning alongside Jim White just hours after being arrested for drink-driving back in August. What a pro.

4) SSN’s female presenters go all Charlie’s Angels in their black leather cat suits for an advert in 2010. There’s a little cameo appearance from Phil Taylor too.

3) Georgie visits Cesc Fabregas in Catalunya and after chatting to his family, winds up taking the Spanish midfielder on in a spot of paddle tennis before going on a little road trip. The lucky sod.

2) She shows her funny side by playing a prank on David Jones with everyone’s favourite World Cup 2010 horn and some red lipstick.

1) Looking smashing in a red dress last week, Georgie is in flying form as she sees out her final few days with the channel. Here come the tears…
