Spurs looking to offload Keane as part of Samba deal

The Ireland skipper’s contract expires next summer and the he appears to be on the way out of Tottenham.

ROBBIE KEANE COULD be off to Blackburn as part of a swap that would bring defender Chris Samba to White Hart Lane.

The Ireland captain, whose recent club performances have not been on a par with those in the green jersey, may well have played his last game for Tottenham. Reports from in today’s Irish Sun (print edition) claim the out of favour striker will be offered along with cash in an effort to bring Samba to London.

Keane’s contract expires next summer and Spurs’ manager Harry Redknapp will be eager to procure some value from the 31 year old while he still can. Owen Cowzer reports that other potential suitors include QPR, Bolton and Fulham.

While Keane’s preference would probably be to remain in London, he may have to settle for Premiership football wherever it is offered.
