Poll: Do you support the teachers strike?

Students have a day off as teachers take action over proposed Junior Cert reforms.

THOUSANDS OF SECONDARY school teachers are on strike today over proposed reforms to the Junior Cert.

The main issue is that teachers are being asked to mark 40% of their students’ coursework, but they are also concerned over a continued lack of resources.

However, the Minister for Education said she has done all she can to compromise, but similar efforts are needed by the ASTI and TUI.

We want to know what you think: Do you support the teachers strike?
