Swansea 0-3 Everton

Afternoon one and all. Tomorrow may be the big one – with Liverpool hosting Manchester United and Manchester City take on Arsenal – but we’ve got a fair bit to attend to over the next five hours.

First up, Everton’s trip to the Liberty Stadium. Kick-off is around 25 minutes away and we’ll have teams in a few moments.

Swansea have had an excellent start to their second season in the top tier but will be looking to bounce back here after suffering their first defeat to Aston Villa last time out. Everton, meanwhile, are level with today’s opponents on seven points from four games.

They played Newcastle on Monday night and despite taking a 2-1 lead with two minutes of normal time remaining, had to settle for a draw after Demba Ba’s equaliser.

Here are your teams:

Swansea: Vorm, Rangel, Tate, Williams, Davies, Ki, de Guzman, Michu, Hernandez, Routledge, Graham. Subs: Tremmel, Britton, Dyer, Monk, Shechter, Moore, Tiendalli.

Everton: Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Jagielka, Baines, Osman, Pienaar, Coleman, Fellaini, Mirallas, Anichebe. Subs: Mucha, Oviedo, Naismith, Distin, Gueye, Vellios, Duffy.

For the home side, South Korean international Ki Sung-Yeung comes in for Leon Britton in midfield while fellow new signing Pablo Hernandez starts ahead of Nathan Dyer. The Toffees are without Nikica Jelavic, who suffered an injury against Newcastle, so Belgian striker Kevin Mirallas partners Victor Anichebe up front.

There’s also a first Premier League start of the season for Irish international Seamus Coleman.

If Swansea play the last game against a team, and a third team pays Swansea to win the game, I really don’t see anything bad about that.

“It’s just a bonus. For me, match-fixing is somebody pays someone to lose a game. In Spain where there’s one or two matches left in a season we always talked about the suitcases.”

A minute’s applause underway for the victims of Hillsborough. Once that’s done, we’ll be up and running.

Two great chances for Mirallas to opening his account in the opening first minutes. He fires a cut-back straight at Michael Vorm, then heads into the Dutch keeper’s hands at the second attempt. The former Olympiacos and Saint-Etienne hitman should really have done better.

A misplaced pass from Jonathan de Guzman plays Anichebe through on goal and Ashley Williams has no choice but to chop him down 20 yards out from goal. The Swansea skipper is shown a yellow card for his challenge by referee Anthony Taylor before Leighton Baines can only strike the wall with his free-kick.

Spanish midfielder Michu, who has four goals from as many games since arriving from Rayo Vallecano, times his run to perfection but sees Tim Howard out swiftly to collect a ball from deep right on the edge of his box.

GOAL! Swansea 0-1 Everton (Victor Anichebe)

Moments after striking straight at Vorm, Anichebe scores his second goal in five days. Fellaini chests down the ball and forces it into the path of the Nigerian striker, who finishes coolly on the volley.

Upon seeing the replay, however, it looks like Fellaini has played the knock-down illegally with his forearm.

Seamus Coleman has had a quiet enough half hour at right back but gets a first opportunity to bomb forward and, after a one-two with Mirallas, finds Anichebe 18 yards out. The striker goes down under a nudge and when Coleman takes possession again, he is crowded out by several Swansea players.

Yellow card for Ki and Swansea are growing frustrated at not having things their way at the moment.

Swansea have just had their best spell of the match as Pablo Hernandez’s effort is headed off the line. The Spanish international is starting for the first time since arriving from Valencia in the summer.

More pressure from the home side and ex-Celtic midfielder Ki is yards away from drawing them level with a brilliant curling effort from 20 yards out. Five minutes until the break.

GOAL! Swansea 0-2 Everton (Kevin Mirallas)

Everton break with Fellaini, who puts Pienaar in down the right. His first time cross finds Mirallas and after the initial shot comes off Vorm and cracks the crossbar, the Toffees player heads over the line from close range. That’s his first for the club.

Half-time: Swansea 0-2 Everton

The Swans should have at least one back and both chances have fallen to Angel Rangel. Howard somehow keeps his first out before the defender can’t direct a volley on target after ghosting to the back post unmarked.

The second half has just begun and we’ve got some team news to bring you. Laudrup has taken Hernandez off for Nathan Dyer, who will attempt to make an impact on the right wing.

A bit of handbags and theatrics going on. Rangel and Fellaini are pushing and shoving off the ball when the Belgian sticks a knee out. Rangel delays a second, then goes down. The ref has a brief chat and off we go again.

Wayne Routledge unleashes Michu with a perfectly-weighted pass but, instead of getting his head up to see Dyer in space, he shoots at Howard.

Decent penatly shout for Everton turned down when Ki pushes Mirallas in the back. The 24-year-old striker then cracks the woodwork with a shot and Howard keeps out Ki’s strike.

Leon Britton is on, and Swansea have picked up two more bookings – Angel Rangel and Nathan Dyer.

SENDING OFF – Only on the pitch since half-time, Nathan Dyer picks up a second yellow card for a rash challenge on Leighton Baines meaning he’ll be taking an early shower after 12 minutes of football.

Swansea’s task just got considerably tougher.

Bad miss by Fellaini, who is found at the back post by Anichebe. Swansea still looking to create with the same style they are accustomed to.

Michu has been booked.

Mirallas, replaced by Steven Naismith, walks off after what has been a good day. Swansea bring on Israeli striker Itay Shechter for Danny Gradam, meanwhile.

Everton should be out of sight here. Anichebe with the latest miss when he directs Baines’ cut-back from the left wide.

GOAL! Swansea 0-3 Everton (Marouane Fellaini)

Game, set and match. Baines whips in a free-kick for the gangly midfielder to head home via a deflection off Williams.

Double Everton substitution:

  • Pienaar off, Magaye Gueye on
  • Fellaini off, Bryan Oviedo on

Full-time: Swansea 0-3 Everton

In time added on, Phil Jagielka ensures Everton of a clean sheet by blocking Shechter shot. The Toffees continue their great start to the season and move up into second place after a thoroughly-deserved win.
