EVERY EVENING, TheJournal.ie brings you our essential run-down of the day’s big stories – plus any other bits and pieces you may have missed…

  • Vincent Browne has offered to step aside as moderator for a proposed TV3 debate between Enda Kenny and Gerry Adams.  His announcement came after the Taoiseach had earlier ruled out appearing on any programme hosted by Browne, saying “I do not do the Vincent Browne show.”
  • Meanwhile, things got heated in the Dáil earlier as Eamon Gilmore and Richard Boyd-Barrett exchanged colourful language over the referendum – sparring over a “fetish” for “orgies and arousal”. Oo-er.
