The Morning Score: Friday

We’re on the brink of history, ladies and gentlemen.

1. #RWC2011 We’re less than 24 hours away now from the biggest game, arguably, in Irish rugby history.

The mood in the camp – as is the cliche – seems relaxed judging by Fergus McFadden’s column for us.

On the other side of the draw, the All Blacks Sonny Bill Williams, Colin Slade and Mils Muliaina will all start in New Zealand’s Rugby World Cup quarter-final with Argentina on Sunday.

2. EURO 2012 Giovanni Trapattoni named his side to face minnows Andorra in Ireland’s penultimate European Championships qualifier this evening.

There’s no real surprises in the selection with Glenn Whelan and Keith Andrews in the centre of the park and Darren O’Dea deputising for Richard Dunne next to Sean St Ledger in defence.

Kevin Doyle gets the bod ahead of Shane Long up front with skipper Robbie Keane. Check out the detail here.

Miguel Delaney will liveblog the action for us from tea-time. From the looks of yesterday’s poll, you guys are feeling pretty confident ahead of the double header.

3. #GAA Here we go again. Reigning All-Ireland hurling champions Kilkenny will begin their Leinster defence against either Dublin, Westmeath or Antrim, while football champions Dublin will consider themselves happy with their draw, which will pit them against Louth or Westmeath in the opener.

Check out the rest of last night’s championship draws from Croke Park here.

4. #YOU BET Fabio Capello will select Wayne Rooney for this evening’s vital Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro having been assured by the striker that he is “relaxed” and focused despite his father’s arrest over an alleged betting scam

5. #TIGER Former world No 1, Tiger Woods, put down another poor day as he shot a two-over-par 73 in the opening round of the Frys.com Open at the CordeValle golf club, San Martin, California.

6. #YOUTUBE It’s go time, baby. This one made the cut in yesterday’s going viral round-up, unsurprisingly.
