The Morning Score: Tuesday

We couldn’t sleep last night with Cheltenham getting going today. But we still had to get up for the Morning Score.

1. #CHELTFEST And we’re off. The Cheltenham Festival gets going this afternoon – and we’ll be there for every furlong.

In the meantime check out John Duggan’s five simple rules for beating the bookies, download your office sweepstakes kit, read our guide to hosting the perfect Cheltenham Festival house party and horse racing for dummies.

I’m looking at you, dummy.

2. #CHAMPIONS LEAGUE Despite all the racing excitement that’s no doubt in store this afternoon, we’ll be live-blogging Manchester United’s game with Marseille and Inter’s visit to Munich. We’ll more than likely be shirt-less.

3. #SIX NATIONS Ireland rugby stars will train this afternoon before players and staff members speak to the press.

The IRB will also issue a formal apology to Ireland today, reportedly, for the line-out error in Cardiff.

4. #FAI Ireland took another big step towards securing the international services of Wigan midfielder James McCarthy yesterday afternoon when the 20-year-old was called up to Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad for the games against Macedonia and Uruguay.

5. #CWC Ireland play South Africa in their penultimate group game this morning. We’ll keep updated throughout the day.

6. #D’OH How did I not see this over the weekend? Take a bow, Swansea City.
