The Score's weekly YouTube chart

An inspiration from Down Under, a wonderful goalkeeping howler and the death of a Beatle at a football game.

10. Goalkeepers eh?

Spurs keep on trucking in Europe.

Despite Gareth Bale’s performances against Inter or Jermain Defoe’s double against FC Twente in Holland on Tuesday, this is the highlight of their campaign so far for me, Jeff.

9. I see dead people, I do

The Premier League’s straightest talking Yorkshire man Mick McCarthy is shocked to see something that none of the rest of us can before kick-off at Blackburn last weekend.

Or else he slipped on the grass.

[Thanks to Benny Norris for the heads-up on Facebook]

8. Inspiration

Many of you watched the Australian-produced documentary on Jim Stynes, the Dublin-born AFL legend who is currently battling cancer. It’s really powerful television.

Here, again, is the trailer.

But watch the full hour if you have time to fire up the RTÉ player.

7. From the archive

We’ve had a few chats with interesting people this week including the Sunday Independent’s Declan Lynch (who has the John Giles autobiography and Days of Heaven in shops), the Irish Examiner’s Michael Moynihan (who has Rebels in all good book stores) and TV funnyman PJ Gallagher (who wasn’t flogging anything).

We asked each for a cool YouYube clip; check out Robert Kennedy’s funeral train, which Moynihan suggested.

6. G-Mac baby!

I’m still watching this finish from Sunday night’s golf in California. Take that Tiger…

5. One, two, three, four… US Marine Corp

I’m watching HBO’s miniseries The Pacific at the moment. The marines are nothing like these guys.

4. Rocky isn’t real, right?

News broke this week that Sly Stallone will be inducted into the boxing Hall of Fame. Here’s the original theatrical trailer.

And incidentally, if you’ve never heard this story about Sly, it’s worth a listen.

3. Guus the football evangelist

Holland and Belgium didn’t win the World cup bid last week, but they certainly had the most fun presentation in Zurich. Here, your friend and mine, Guus Hiddink travels the world, exporting the Dutch way.

I’m a believer.

But in fairness those who won the bids, they had some impressive footage too…

2. You’re very naughty boys

Leinster and Scarlets played to a 17-17 draw on Friday night at the Parc y Scarlets in what was an ill-tempered game.

Referee Nigel Owens had no qualms about embarrassing every player on the pitch when eh thought things were getting out of hand.

1. ‘Shot in the back two times’

It was the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s violent death yesterday (though I know they mark it on the ninth in Britain).

America however learned of the tragedy from Howard Cossell in his Monday Night Football commentary.
