Big fan of The Voice? It might not be back next year...

RTÉ is looking for submissions from production companies for a new show for the Sunday evening slot.

RTÉ HAS CONFIRMED that it is currently looking for a new show to fill The Voice of Ireland’s slot on a Sunday evening.

This morning, the broadcaster said it is “best practice” to look at ways of improving and refreshing schedules.

“We are currently looking for expressions of interest from independent production companies to tender for potential programmes for our Sunday night 6.30 slot.”

However RTÉ stressed that this does not necessarily mean The Voice of Ireland will not be returning again next year for a fifth season.

The decision on this will be made later this year after the process which has been outlined on our website has been completed.

“The Voice of Ireland is one of RTÉ’s biggest television commissions and is currently enjoying its fourth season and is proving once again to be hugely popular with viewers regularly attracting over 500,000.”
