9. Alejandro Paz couldn’t be all there. The Peruvian extreme cyclist sets off on death-defying downhill run along a narrow mountain path… covered with jagged rocks and boulders. It’s not surprising that the daredevil stunt has got over two million hits on YouTube in two weeks.

Detroit All-Star Miguel Cabrera was the unlucky recipient of a ground ball to the face during an exhibition game with the Philadelphia Phillies this week but is counting his blessings that he was wearing sunglasses as he would most likely have lost an eye instead of suffering just a fracture to the orbital bone.

7. Manchester City midfielder has taken a year-and-a-half to come across Alex Ferguson’s famous phrase ‘squeaky bum time’, it seems. The Ivorian looked completely miffed when Sky’s Geoff Shreeves quizzed him on it before last night’s Premier League win over Chelsea. With the season coming to a climax, it’s probably about time he familiarises himself with it.

6. Basketball isn’t renowned for diving on the court but step forward Mick Pinnisi of the Philippines Basketball Association. After tussling with Will McDonald, the Petron Blaze Boosters player bounces the ball off Pinnisi’s head, leading him to flop to the ground with a fall Didier Drogba would be proud of.

5. Eamon Zayed’s stock at Persepolois continues to rise. The former Bray Wanderers and Derry City striker scored his second hat-trick for the club in six games for the Tehran-based club. The goals came in a 6-1 win over Al-Shebab of the UAE in the Asian Champions League. Check out the flick for his second.

3. Check out this monster 50ft wave off the coast of Mullaghmore Head, Sligo, which has been handed a last-minute nomination for the Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards. UK surfer Andrew Cotton came across it while out during the huge swell on March 8.
