The decision was made to reward the Tyrone boss at a county committee last night.

TYRONE MANAGER MICKEY Harte has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the county until at least 2015, it has been announced.

His contract was due to be up after this year’s Championship, however a decision was made to reward him with a new contract by the county committee last night.

Speaking to GAA.ie following the announcement, he said:

“It is a great privilege to be asked by the county committee to take charge of the Tyrone senior football team and I gladly accepted that offer.”

Harte has been manager of the county since 2002, helping them to win three All-Irelands since his time there.
