VIDEO: Thurles Sarsfields or De La Salle to triumph in Munster final?

For the second time in three years the Tipperary and Waterford club representatives will meet in the provincial decider.

THE 2012 MUNSTER club hurling crown will be handed out this Sunday in Páirc Uí Chaoimh as Thurles Sarsfields square off against De La Salle.

The two clubs are familiar opponents having clashed in the decider in 2010 at the same venue.

On that occasion, De La Salle prevailed by a single point 0-9 to 0-8 to claim their second title in three years.

Waterford senior star John Mullane notched 0-5 in a game played in Arctic conditions before an attendance of 1,613 while John Keane, the goal-scoring hero in their recent Munster semi-final win over Clare’s Newmarket-on-Fergus, grabbed 0-2 in that clash.

Thurles Sarsfields, who will be chasing their first ever Munster title next Sunday, have claimed the scalps of Limerick’s Kilmallock and Cork’s Sarsfields to date in this season’s championship.

Their team captain Padraic Maher believes it is time Sarsfields finally captured the AIB Munster senior championship crown having already won a record 32 county titles.
