The Premier and the Tribesmen faced off in Tullamore this evening.

WERE TIPPERARY GOING to keep their winning run going or would Galway recover from their Connacht final defeat?

It was the second of a double-header of football qualifier games in Tullamore and we were following the action all the way.

Galway 0-2 Tipperary 0-1: 11 mins – Michael Martin restores Galway’s lead.

Tipperary 0-3 Galway 0-2: 13 mins – Good spell from Tipperary yields points from Acheson from play and then Sweeney from a free.

Galway 0-3 Tipperary 0-3: 15 mins – All square again as good play by Galway, particularly from Shane Walsh, yields the opening for Danny Cummins to fire over off his left.

Tipperary 0-4 Galway 0-3: 17 mins – Midfielder Stephen O’Brien comes forward to land a fine point for Tipperary.

Tipperary 0-5 Galway 0-3: 18 mins – Another fine point for Tipperary, this time from Barry Grogan.

Tipperary 0-5 Galway 0-4: 19 mins – Michael Lundy pulls a point back for Galway.

Tipperary 0-6 Galway 0-4: 21 mins – Quality play from Colin O’Riordan as he shows superb composure to settle himself before pointing as the Galway defence challenged.

Tipperary 0-6 Galway 0-6: 29 mins – Conroy and Walsh bring Galway level with points but Cummins nearly grabbed a goal as well but was foiled by the woodwork.

That was outrageous skill by Walsh for that point for Galway. Really impressive stuff as he trapped the ball with his right before spinning and scoring off his left.

Galway 1-6 Tipperary 0-6: 33 mins – Big moment in this game with a superb team move culminating in O Curraoin charging forward from midfield and shooting low to the net.

Subs: Ian Fahey for Ger Mulhair for Tipperary while Daithi Burke replaces Gary O’Donnell on the Galway side.

Galway 1-7 Tipperary 0-7: 35 mins – Points are swapped with Michael Qulnlivan clipping over a beautiful point from his left for Tipperary before Walsh knocks over a free for Galway.
