Strong football influence in Tipperary intermediate hurling side for Munster semi-final

Tipperary take on Limerick in Sunday’s curtain-raiser at the Gaelic Grounds.

THERE’S A STRONG football influence in the Tipperary team named for Sunday’s Munster intermediate hurling semi-final against Limerick.

John Coghlan, who featured for the Tipp senior side in last year’s football championship, will captain the intermediate team from centre-back while 2011 All-Ireland minor football winning captain Liam McGrath is named at corner-forward.

Brian Stapleton and Daire Quinn, who both started on the UL team that won this year’s Fitzgibbon Cup, are named at right half-back and midfield respectively.

Throw-in at the Gaelic Grounds for Sunday’s curtain-raiser is 2pm.
