1. Former Fianna Fáil Minister Pat Carey has spoken openly about being gay on RTÉ’S ‘Today with Sean O’Rourke’ programme. He has said he “didn’t have the courage” to speak about his sexuality before.

2. A 28-year-old man has been arrested following a hoax call about a man jumping into the River Suir in Waterford.
