Today's stage at the Tour de France came down to this photo finish

Mark Cavendish was pipped on the line by Marcel Kittel, who snatched his third stage win of this year’s race.

STAGE 12 OF the Tour de France couldn’t have been much closer.

After a rough 48 hours in and out of the saddle, Mark Cavendish looked to have clinched his 25th stage win when he made a dash for the finish line in Tours.

But the Manx Missile was pipped at the last by Germany’s Marcel Kittel who wrapped up a hat-trick of stages, with the green jersey of Peter Sagan back in third.
